Enjoy The Social Life Of Wangi Shores

Wangi Shores has been designed to be as inclusive with the local community as possible. You will instantly feel as though you are a part of the social life, with activities and entertainment around the clock.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

MONDAYS - 1.30PM  -  BRIDGE

Come along and enjoy an afternoon game of social bridge. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, all level of players are welcome. During the half-time interval the residents host a "blind wine tasting" where a resident brings along a mystery bottle of wine with the label hidden. Players who wish to take part are given a taste to challenge their pallet, along with some cheese and crackers.

WEDNESDAYS - 2.00PM  -  CRAFT

We have a lovely group of residents that keep their hands very busy churning out lots of craft items for charity organisations. "Kaleidoscope" is one of the major organisations that the craft group support. This organisation provides craft items to children and adults in hospital along with families and children in need of support. They also sell items at stalls to raise funds for much needed equipment in hospitals and emergency transport. Our craft group have received a "Certificate of Appreciation" from Kaleidoscope for their valued efforts.

WEDNESDAYS 7.00PM  -  TRIVIA AT THE WORKERS CLUB

In the afternoon our residents stroll down from the village to the Wangi District Workers Club, where they participate in the Trivia Night as the "Village People".  They do not wear the outfits or burst out in macho song, but they do let out a big cheer when they win! Whether you’re a trivia guru or a novice, you are sure to enjoy the social gathering and have a great night.

THURSDAYS - 3.30PM Onwards  -  BOWLS "ROLL UP"
Being a resident at Wangi Shores Retirement Village also means you receive social membership to both the Workers Club and the Bowling Club. Many of our residents participate in bowling and enjoy our residents social "roll-up" on the last Thursday of each month. Whether you play bowls or just like to watch, you can come down and enjoy a cold drink and socialise during the games. There’s always a mouth watering sausage sizzle to round off the perfect afternoon.

FRIDAYS -2.00PM - GAMES AFTERNOON

On the first Friday of each month, residents gather at the Clubhouse to participate in our games afternoon. They can enjoy a game of Canasta, Rummikub or Scrabble, or venture outside to participate in a round of Croquet or Boccie. During the afternoon players break for a nice cuppa or a glass of wine and some nibbles.
